JAMES A. MICHENER says it this way:

The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him, he’s always doing both.

When I was a kid I was never taught work life balance: it was not part of the vocabulary back then! Things just were. Probably not necessary in early years. You went to school stayed for the day, focused on that. Went home, spent time with family, did that! Did or did not do your homework. There were consequences.

Went out to play with your friends. You pretty much knew where they would be. No appointments. No text, calling, or SM to stay connected. If they did not show, you’d see them at school next day and asked: “what happened?” Did that. It just was and you just did. There was no plan. You went on family vacations, that was that. Loved it or hated it. Our parents took us everywhere with them. Whether we liked it or not.

Life was work. Work was Life.

NOW: Work-Life Balance! School, kids, deadlines, cooking, shopping, eating, socializing, Business, home, playing, working, creating, appointments, day timers, food choices/phobias….feel free to add to the list. Just BEING! is creating this need for work-life balance. Along comes midlife to throw a spanner in the works. It could get crazy but it could also be good. How can you learn how to make it the best time of your life! I have come to understand with all the manifesting, breathing, doing, and working on my higher self, that for me, there will never be a Work-Life Balance. It just is. Make choices. Good or Bad. Know your story and learn how to develop your own Personal Power at any time of your life, then, take care of yourself to the best of your ability through your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual pathways.

It just is!

With a truckload of information at our fingers tips which are awesome – and at the same time, insane. We still have choices. We are part of humanity.

Work, Love, Play, Do.

BRING YOUR BEST!

I recently went to a Bo Eason event in San Diego. Bo is an inspiring Personal Story Power speaker/creator who elevates personal development to a very high standard. The event was outright great for women (me), who create their own experiences and validation to keep thriving in this anti-aging world. For 3 days I didn’t have to balance anything. It just was and we just did. It was one of the best investments I’ve made for myself. In fact, Bo gave the insight into the balance of always “righting the ship”. Whether it’s an airplane or a yacht, you are always going to be off course 95% or more. You just right the ship and you get there. This is so true as we reach the next chapter of our lives. Older is better, right. God granted us the wisdom to know the difference!
